By chance I have come on their(her) page(side). I find this interesting, because also my surname Opp is. At the moment I occupy with ancestor research and am already with 1770. But here I do not get on. The fact that a place with name Opp the name of the man(husband) Henry Opp carries is interesting for me. Nächtes year I will visit very much likely diee region and do a visit in Opp Alabama.

I'm am looking for Richard Thomas Chapman that I believe grew up in Opp. I met him in San Antonio while he was in the Army in 1966, prior to his going to Vietnam. I visited him and his mom in 1968 when he came home. To make a long story short we lost contact and over the years, I have continued to look for him. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who could help me make the contact. Thanks.

Plan to visit this comming spring. On way to Daytona for motorcycle races but will stop for a day or two. Works nicely for rattlesnake rodeo.
Does anyone remain who was in law enforcement about 40 years ago? I learned of Opp AL from an excellent gentleman who escaped from a pickup truck wreck into a river, was carried to hospital by someone one in an new car with white leater seats. That good samaritan was later that night arrested for running moonshine. So long ago no one could be hurt by hearing "rest of story" or at least from another viewpoint. Real long shot but if anyone knows of this ancient incident I would like to hear from them.
Thank you,
roger

I have been surfing the web looking for houses in different states in areas which I think I could afford to put down a moderate down payment and live in a relaxed small-town country-type atmophere, and I think I may have found it!! I have found the most adorable house in Opp and have fallen in love with it. In searching for information about your town I have come across this chamber of commerce web site. I would like to thank whoever was responsible to putting together this web site as they have given me quite a lot of information - especially considering Opp is a rather small town. This site is more comprehensive than most of other towns of comparable or larger size. I especially appreciate the business listings-gives me a better sense of what's there and I also appreciate the pictures!! May I suggest you add more?? It may help to bring more people into your town to either visit or stay! I would be interested in hearing from anyone who knows of any possible clerical openings in Opp, as that was my favorite job. I worked as an office mgr. Thanks!!

Hello, I was wondering if you could help me obtain any information about a Mr. John M. Jackson Jr. Mr Jackson served in the US Army during World War II with my father, Joseph Edward Nobles who was assigned to Battery C, 741st Field Artillery Battalion and fought in the battles of Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. I do not know if Mr. Jackson is still living or has gone on to meet our Lord. The reason I am looking for information about his is that I have a pilot chute that was used during his service in World War II that my father send home to my aunt. This pilot chute has ink drawings of an eagle holding the American Flag, a 105 MM Holzer, a Heart with a Cross on top of with the names Lt Kelly and Pvt Daughtery inside, and the names and addresses of the men assigned to this unit. I believe that Mr. Jackson may have drawn this because his name and address, John M. Jackson Jr., 205 Brantley St. Opp Ala. is above the heart in red Ink. All the other names on this pilot chute are in black except one. I do not know if there were more than one of these produced or why my dad got this one. Thank you for any information you can provide.
